  People’s University is incorporated and established by the State Government Notification on 4th May 2011 by Madhya Pradesh Legislature through an amendment in Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Avam Sanchalan) Adhiniyam-2007 as Madhya Pradesh Act (No.18 of 2011).

  Established under section 2(f) and empowered to award degrees under section 22 of University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956.
